All Systems Failure, the third single from Picture One’s upcoming full length Hearts of the Terminus, thematically explores the idea of the failing social systems around us and our roles within them. The song focuses on our inability to fully view the moving parts of current complex structures as we move through them, and our ultimate ability to more clearly view older power structures and their failings.
Musically All Systems Failure strongly recalls the choral and vocal elements of Sisters of Mercy and the dancefloor stylings of EBM groups like Nitzer Ebb and D.A.F.
lyrics
Was it ever was?
When it’s what’s felt in absence of it
And is it really gone?
It’s only lost because we longed
And did it ever shine?
Perhaps what’s dulled is just a moment of this time
And in our breath, our lives
We only understand just the pieces of the parts of it
Was it ever calm?
Only for the atonement of it?
And are we ever done?
For only constant actions can rise the heights above
And did it ever shine?
Perhaps what’s dulled is just a moment of this time
And in our breath, our lives
We only understand just the pieces of the parts of it
In the absence of our live, and the blood of our hearts
We are shells
And in born lies have swum
All systems fail
Breakpoints set to zero
And to know what’s left
I only see a mirror
I only see a mirror
I only see a mirror
And did it ever shine?
Perhaps what’s dulled is just a moment of this time
And in our breath, our lives
We only understand just the pieces of the parts of it

I've always enjoyed Boy Harsher but I don't think they ever really clicked in my brain until I watched The Runner. Now I can't get enough. Gordon Skramzy (Nathan)

It's uncanny just how good Actors is at emulating that Post-Punk synth sound from my younger days.
Each listen just gets better and better. I feel slightly ashamed for not having heard this album until a few short days ago. modestwriggles
